Job Description

UNC Charlotte Dining is seeking a creative, organized, and outgoing student to join our Marketing Team for the Fall 2025 semester. This paid internship offers the opportunity to gain real-world experience in content creation, event planning, market research, and brand management — all while playing a key role in enhancing the student dining experience on campus.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Social Media & Content Creation

● Capture and edit engaging photos and videos for @ninerdiners across Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms

● Produce short-form video content (Reels, TikToks) and digital graphics using Canva or CapCut

● Assist in managing the content calendar and scheduling regular posts

● Monitor trends, analyze engagement metrics, and support audience growth

 

Event Planning & Student Engagement 

● Support campus activations including Free Sampling Days, Pop-Ups, Gold Rush, and Late Night Niners

● Assist in setting up tabling events and engaging directly with students

● Collaborate with campus partners (SGA, Housing, UREC, etc.) to help execute creative campaigns

● Photograph events and contribute to post-event content and recaps

● Serve as a brand ambassador during major campus events such as Move-In, Orientation, Gold Rush, and seasonal celebrations 

 

Market Research & Feedback

● Conduct student surveys and focus groups to gather feedback and insights

● Support data collection, analysis, and summary reporting

● Audit dining locations for signage quality, promotional materials, and brand consistency 

 

Retail Marketing Support

● Visit retail dining venues to ensure consistent brand presentation and promotional visibility

● Assist with flyer distribution, merchandising audits, and promotional signage updates

● Provide reports with actionable recommendations to enhance product and brand presence 

 

Administrative Support

● Assist with tasks such as printing materials, organizing giveaways, and tracking promotional inventory 

 

Qualifications

● Currently enrolled UNC Charlotte student (undergraduates preferred)

● Experience with Instagram, TikTok, Canva, and/or CapCut

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills; confident in engaging with peers

● Highly organized, dependable, and proactive

● Comfortable working events, including some evenings

● Skills in photography, graphic design, or video editing are a plus

Job Summary

This position is paid, but not eligible for benefits such as medical, relocation, or housing.

 

Because this position requires you to perform services in an educational facility, there may be periods when the Company does not require you to perform work (such as winter and summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease). Any such periods during which you do not perform work on the Company’s behalf may be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff. However, depending on business needs, you may be required to work year-round, potentially at a different location during break periods.  Business needs may vary from year to year.
