About Plate360
Plate360 is Compass Group’s enterprise initiative to connect trusted product, ingredient, vendor, client, recipe, procurement, and operational data so teams can deliver more accurate nutrition, allergen, cost, local reporting, and traceability capabilities at the account level. The program depends on TrueData MDM as a trusted data foundation and close alignment with MenuWorks, Axiom, Foodbuy, Canteen, sector teams, suppliers, and other connected systems.
Role Summary
The MDM Data Enablement Lead will play a critical role in delivering the Plate360 and broader TrueData MDM vision by ensuring the data foundation is ready, trusted, and usable as new technology capabilities are built and deployed.
This role will sit at the intersection of master data management, product management, technology delivery, data governance, and business operations. The person in this role will help drive the cross-functional work required to procure, prepare, align, and operationalize data across MDM domains, external partners, and connected systems including TrueData, MenuWorks, Axiom, Foodbuy, Canteen, and sector platforms.
This is a high-impact, flexible role for someone who can bring structure to ambiguity, connect dots across teams, and keep critical data and execution priorities moving. Success in this role will directly support Plate360 outcomes including accurate product data, nutrition, allergen and cost transparency, local data reporting, traceability, and scalable data stewardship across Compass.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive data enablement workstreams that support Plate360 and TrueData MDM delivery, with a focus on data readiness, quality, coordination, and execution.
- Lead coordination of GDSN data procurement efforts, including manufacturer engagement, publishing readiness, and follow-up on key product data gaps.
- Coordinate short-term product data gap closure through specification sheets, manufacturer documentation, and other approved data sources.
- Organize and prioritize data wrangling efforts required to support regulatory, operational, reporting, and implementation needs.
- Partner across Item/Product, Vendor, and Client MDM domains to ensure data dependencies, business rules, ownership, and stewardship needs are aligned.
- Support emerging local data reporting and traceability needs that require coordination across MDM domains, transactional data, and downstream systems.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Data Analysts, Data Stewards, Engineering Leads, and business stakeholders to translate data needs into actionable work.
- Track key dependencies, risks, decisions, blockers, and follow-ups across Plate360 and related MDM initiatives.
- Help define and operationalize processes for data intake, issue resolution, data quality review, stewardship workflows, and readiness tracking.
- Support cross-functional alignment with MenuWorks, Axiom, Foodbuy, Canteen, sector stakeholders, suppliers, and other enterprise partners.
- Prepare clear updates, summaries, decision materials, and executive-ready communication on progress, risks, and business impact.
- Identify additional opportunities where stronger MDM alignment, data quality, or process coordination can unlock business value across Compass.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Management, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in project management, program management, data management, data governance, master data, supply chain, technology delivery, business analysis, or a related role.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional work across business, product, technology, data, and external partner teams.
- Strong understanding of data quality, data readiness, data stewardship, reporting, or master data management concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to bring structure to ambiguous work, clarify ownership, manage dependencies, and drive priorities to completion.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear status updates, decision materials, and executive-ready summaries.
- Experience working with product data, supplier/manufacturer data, GDSN, specification sheets, foodservice data, regulatory data, or traceability requirements is preferred.
- Experience with enterprise systems, data platforms, reporting tools, or workflow/process management tools is preferred.
- PMP, Agile, Scrum, data governance, or data management certification is a plus but not required.
Why This Role Matters
Plate360 success depends on more than technology delivery. It requires trusted, complete, and connected data across products, ingredients, vendors, clients, recipes, procurement, operations, and reporting. This role will help ensure the right data is available at the right time, the right teams are aligned, and the right execution challenges are being solved as the technology comes together.
The MDM Data Enablement Lead will be a key driver in helping Compass turn its MDM foundation into real business outcomes, including improved nutrition and allergen transparency, better cost accuracy, stronger local reporting, enhanced traceability, and scalable product stewardship across the enterprise.
