Job Summary:

The Onboarding Account Manager plays a critical role in driving member success by managing the onboarding of new business into Foodbuy’s GPO program. This customer-facing role is responsible for strategic planning, client engagement, program optimization, and revenue growth across multiple business verticals. The manager acts as a trusted advisor and ambassador of Foodbuy, ensuring seamless transitions and maximizing program value. Success in this role requires the ability to interpret reports and data to identify trends, support decision-making, and guide clients toward improved performance.

Responsibilities:

Client Onboarding & Engagement

  • Serve as the single point of contact during onboarding to ensure a seamless transition.
  • Conduct strategic planning sessions tailored to each client’s business needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to grow business volumes.
  • Promote Foodbuy technologies (e.g., MPower) and ensure adoption during onboarding.
  • Provide superior customer service and timely communication.

Strategic Account Management

  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction, rebate growth, and sustainability.
  • Drive program optimizations from day one, including product conversion and order guide strategy.
  • Track and report on purchasing behaviors, leakage, and performance metrics.
  • Facilitate monthly financial reviews and quarterly business reviews with clients.

Project Management

  • Create and maintain strategic onboarding plans and project timelines.
  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines.
  • Provide weekly updates and recap communications to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Elevate challenges and risks for resolution support.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Align with internal SMEs (Category, Culinary, Sourcing, Distribution) to support client initiatives.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers and distributors to create synergies and efficiencies.
  • Support large-scale client needs and ensure all onboarding tasks are completed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years in account management or customer success (preferably in hospitality, foodservice, or related industry).
  • Ability to interpret client reports and purchasing data to identify performance gaps, trends, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to build long-term relationships and drive results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Dynamics).
  • Experience with CRM platforms and reporting tools.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.
