Job Summary
ESFM, a Compass Group company, is seeking a Remote Procurement Director and Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Skills and Knowledge:
Extensive experience in managing complex procurement projects and driving strategic initiatives.
Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
Advanced negotiation skills to lead high-stakes supplier discussions.
Comprehensive knowledge of procurement processes, market dynamics, and industry trends.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in using advanced procurement software and tools.
Strong analytical skills to interpret market data and develop strategic insights.
Strategic Procurement Plans: Lead the development and execution of strategic procurement plans for the most complex and high-stakes categories/clients.
Innovation and Improvement: Drive innovation and continuous improvement in procurement practices.
Supplier Negotiations: Lead high-level negotiations with strategic suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
Supplier Management: Manage strategic supplier relationships, including performance monitoring and issue resolution.
Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on procurement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with senior management, legal teams, and other departments to address complex procurement issues and support strategic initiatives.
Reporting
Prepare and present strategic insights and recommendations to senior management.
Supervision Required: Minimal
Details: Works independently, managing a portfolio of Procurement client accounts. Provides guidance/oversight to/of mid-level procurement professionals.
Leadership Skills
Ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve their best performance.
Coaching and Mentoring: Experience in coaching and mentoring team members to support their professional growth.
People Management: Manage the performance and development of team members, conduct regular performance reviews, and implement training programs to enhance team skills.
Heads the procurement generalist department(s).
Develops long-term strategies for client accounts and vendor management and ensures alignment with organizational objectives.
Manages relationships with key stakeholders and negotiates major client/department initiatives.
Provides high-level oversight and direction to senior Procurement managers and their teams.
Responsible for the overall performance and effectiveness of the Procurement management function.
