Job Summary
The Sr. Category Business Specialist will work on 3rd party member requests and help drive growth to our contracted items for the category business management team. This includes building and analyzing data for optimizations, approved product lists and managed order guides. Other duties include supporting members with general analytics and inquiries, supporting the team with reporting and budget tracking, and building relationships with our account management team. The role will also include process build out to help support the transition of members from the new business onboarding stage to becoming an existing member.
Responsibilities:
• Continuously stay up to date on preferred supplier program and category nuances
• Update data in member specific reporting tools to reflect actual FB earnings and support budget.
• Work cross-functionally with Account Managers, Finance, Sourcing and others to understand and communicate preferred program
• Independently manage assigned projects.
• Develop tools and processes that drive value in contracting, conversion, and revenue generation
• Support on day-to-day operations with:
• Ad hoc analysis, conversion file formatting, manual match files, data summarization
• Assisting with the roll-out, implementation and communication of new programs or program changes/conversion initiatives from sourcing and category initiatives
• Build relationships with key Account Managers, educate them on how to effectively interpret data and identify customer engagement opportunities
• Proactively identify opportunities and make recommendations as they relate to contract coverage, conversion opportunities, pricing/volume allowance, new programs, and contracts
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• 3+ years related experience required; experience with customer management and procurement, executing defined projects, performing analytics and project management
• Ability to extract insights from complex data sets using advanced excel skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Extremely Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Proven problem-solving skills using deductive reasoning and identifying gaps in logic
• An ability to manage several complex priorities with strict deadlines and an attention to detail
• High attention to detail and exceptional work quality
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience utilizing reporting and accounting systems
• Work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
• Organized and a high attention to detail
• Customer service orientation
