Job Summary
Primary Responsibilities
Accounting Expertise:
· Serve as an accounting subject matter working with sectors, peers and key customers, in providing
guidance in the proper accounting/classification of intangibles, internally developed software,
PP&E, and leases. Participate in ad hoc projects requiring specialized accounting.
· Work directly with senior leadership on determining capitalization qualifications.
· Review and validate client contracts to ensure requirements for compliance to contract terms
including operation maintenance and balance sheet review for assigned sectors.
· Perform monthly and quarterly internal control testing of tangible, intangible, and leased assets,
the asset register, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
· Support and gather internal and external audit requests as needed, such as preparing roll forwards
and supporting GL detail.
· Provide month and year-end support for Capital Assets close processes ensuring compliance with
all policies and procedures for capitalization; including, recording/posting journal entries in SAP
and supply/ensure appropriate support is provided.
· Assist in enhancing Compass Capital Asset/Client Investment policies and procedures and
Balance Sheet integrity through process improvement initiatives.
· Document errors processed by the Capital Assets and Bank Reconciliations departments to
highlight areas of improvement for both teams.
· Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with other departments.
· Prepare monthly reporting and presentations assigned.
· Create documentation and flowcharts to standardize internal policies and processes.
· Assist management with ad hoc projects or tasks assigned.
Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):
· Support M&A activities by conducting financial analyses, due diligence, and integrating financial
processes.
· Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations during M&A transactions.
· Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior leadership related to M&A activities.
· Support integration activities, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment of financial processes.
Competencies
Technical Skills:
· Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles & processes, financial reporting, and
general business operations, particularly for capital assets, leases, and cash.
· Advanced technical skills in Excel, Microsoft Power Platform, and other analytical tools.
· Thorough understanding of ERP systems, including various account structures, subledger
structures, mapping, workflows, and other related processes. (SAP experience is a plus)
· Knowledge of IFRS and / or US GAAP. Experience with IFRS 16 lease accounting is a plus.

· Strong problem-solving, process improvement, and analytical skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and facilitate teamwork.
· Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 4-6 years of experience.
· MBA, CPA or previous M&A experience is a plus.
