Job Description: 

The Workforce Strategy team is seeking a Summer Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise workforce initiatives at Compass Group. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals who partner with operations, finance, HR, and technology teams to improve workforce performance across the organization. As a Workforce Strategy Intern, you will contribute to projects focused on labor optimization, workforce analytics, compliance, and workforce technology. You will help support initiatives that enable our associates, field operators, and financial leaders to better manage labor costs, reduce risk, improve compliance, and simplify workforce management through data-driven insights and innovative solutions. This internship is part of Compass Group's 10-week Corporate Intern Program. The position follows a hybrid schedule, with three days per week in-person at Compass Group's Headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, and two days working remotely.

 

  

Responsibilities:  

• Support enterprise-wide scheduling, timekeeping, labor pooling, and workforce productivity initiatives. 

• Analyze workforce and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. 

• Support dashboard development, reporting, and data validation to drive actionable insights. 

• Track project plans, action items, risks, dependencies, and deliverables. 

• Assist with project updates, presentations, documentation, and stakeholder communications. 

• Support pilots, user acceptance testing, release readiness, and process improvement efforts. 

• Develop process maps, user resources, training materials, and other tools to improve adoption and user experience. 

• Provide support to field operators, Sector leadership, and internal partners.

Qualifications:   

  • Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Science or similar program with a minimum GPA of 3.0 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and summarize data 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly, professionally, and efficiently 

  • Ability to work independently as well as in partnership with team members 

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines 

  • Self-motivated, proactive, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative environment 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) 

  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other dashboarding and data visualization tools preferred.
