Job Summary

Join a talented group of more than 90 Morrison Healthcare dietitians at the University of Virginia Health System in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia. At this level one trauma center, dietitians play an integral role on multidisciplinary teams in many specialty areas, both in the 675 bed inpatient setting, as well as in over 35 outpatient clinics. RDs participate in research and quality improvement projects, host dietetic interns, and are supported in pursuing leadership and community service experiences. Continuing education opportunities are plentiful from within the accomplished nutrition team and from the health system which values ongoing training and education.
 

This part-time hybrid position will be part of our Bariatric Surgery team. This position will work closely with an interdisciplinary team in a growing clinic to meet the needs of patients both before and after bariatric surgery. The RD will collaborate with other Bariatric Surgery RDs, as well as surgeons, an NP, nurse coordinators, and psychologists, to take care of patients and create and contribute to quality improvement projects. Strong clinical skills, as well as training in motivational interviewing and the intuitive eating approach are highly preferred. We are seeking a dynamic candidate who can balance the knowledge of the clinical features of weight loss surgery with the empathetic approach needed to guide patients through pre-surgery nutrition counseling and post-surgery support. Ideal candidate will have a sincere desire to work in a team-based atmosphere, with abundant opportunities to partner with colleagues for research and quality improvement projects.

 


What We’re Looking For:
•    Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or CDR exam eligible
•    Licensed Dietitian (or willing to obtain) in the state of practice as applicable
•    Healthcare experience preferred—new graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply
