Job Summary
ESFM is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join our organization. ESFM is the corporate Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) division of Compass Group USA.
Rooted in hospitality, ESFM elevates the workplace experience as the single source of innovative FM solutions that ensure a safe, healthy, and sustainable environment. ESFM's clients include many household names from the Life Science, Technology, oil and gas, and Manufacturing markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for general oversight and responsibility of all building systems including HVAC, lighting, lighting systems, plumbing, plumbing systems, restroom fixtures, boilers, heating systems, cooling towers, water treatment, AC package units, fans, pumps, motors, fire life safety systems and energy management systems.
- Submit proposals to replace equipment entering near end of its life cycle expectancy.
- Manage and implement engineering operations and general maintenance of the facility under the general direction of the Eurest Services Unit Director. Depending on specific site operational needs, the Chief Engineer may also maintain the role of Assistant Operations Manager.
- Assumes the general duties of the Unit Director in his/her absence for continuity of daily operations.
- Alternative work schedules shall be required for critical or time-sensitive operational needs.
- Coach and mentor Assistant Chief Engineer in daily operational practices and general development.
- Provide technical training for all engineering team members.
- Implement and conduct training programs for operating the facility equipment and systems.
- Establish and maintain periodic operational testing schedules for critical systems and equipment.
- Administer an effective and accountable preventative maintenance system tailored to the facility.
- Oversee daily building rounds and equipment readings.
- Maintain files of machinery history and daily readings for discrepancies and completion.
- Detect poor trending of parameters and develop comparison readings as needed.
- Evaluate all equipment and systems operationally and provide the Unit Director with a list of deficiency items and recommendations for improvement.
- Submit proposals, monitor, and supervise subcontracted jobs when it is impractical for the scope to be performed in-house, or as may be requested by Building Management.
- Implement and oversee an effective energy conservation and management program to ensure measures are taken to keep operating costs at a minimum.
- Possess the requisite licenses and permits required by local laws and ordinances to operate, repair and maintain the facility equipment and systems. Ensure that the on-site staff conforms to all local laws, codes and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with the Assistant Chief to establish a program for the acquisition, storage and accountability of all operating materials, tools and equipment.
- Develop and maintain a work order system for the control and assignment of all on-call and unscheduled services requested by the customer.
- This system is to include the work performed, where applied, personnel assignments, time and material estimates, and authorization.
- Implement policies and procedures for the workflow of daily operations.
