Job Summary
The Director of Healthcare Technology Integration provides leadership and coordination for healthcare technology management initiatives across assigned hospital accounts. This role focuses on medical device integration, project execution, and capital equipment coordination to support clinical and operational objectives. The Manager ensures that medical devices are safely connected, compliant with hospital network standards, and implemented on schedule and within budget.
This position collaborates closely with Biomedical Engineering, IT, Facilities, and Clinical departments to plan, manage, and deliver technology-related projects. The Manager may oversee a small team of integration specialists and project support staff, ensuring project milestones, documentation, and communication meet organizational standards.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Leadership: Plan, coordinate, and oversee medical device integration projects, ensuring timely completion, stakeholder communication, and alignment with clinical and IT requirements.
- Device Connectivity & Integration: Collaborate with hospital IT and clinical teams to connect medical devices to the network and clinical systems, ensuring data integrity and cybersecurity compliance.
- Capital Equipment Coordination: Manage capital requests, coordinate vendor activities, and assist in planning and implementing new equipment installations and technology upgrades.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with Biomedical, IT, and Clinical departments to ensure smooth technology transitions, minimizing clinical disruptions during implementation.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Serve as liaison between vendors, Biomedical Engineering, and hospital departments to coordinate timelines, access, and integration requirements.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate project documentation, network configuration data, and integration records within the CMMS or other tracking systems.
- Reporting: Generate and present project status reports, integration metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, standardize procedures, and enhance equipment integration efficiency.
- Training & Support: Coordinate or deliver end-user and technical staff training related to new device integrations and system functionality.
- Budget Oversight: Support capital planning and ensure projects remain within approved budget allocations.
- Committee Participation: Represent HTM in committees and meetings related to technology planning, network readiness, or capital planning.
- Quality & Safety: Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies related to technology deployment and integration.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and direction to assigned integration team members, ensuring accountability and professional development.
- Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support operational success and organizational goals
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related healthcare technology field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Experience:
Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in healthcare technology, clinical engineering, or IT network integration.
Demonstrated experience managing technology implementation or integration projects in a healthcare environment.
Strong understanding of medical device networking, HL7, and data security requirements.
Preferred Certifications: CHTM, CBET, PMP, or IT-related certifications (e.g., Network+, Security+, or equivalent).
