Job Summary
The Director of Operational Excellence (OpX) partners with operations and other functional support teams to elevate the student experience, support exceeding client expectations, and drive profitability and margin accretion through establishing new, and refining current standards, systems, and processes relative to food production and Labor performance and cost management. They enable the activation, deployment and ongoing maintenance of the food production performance essentials while monitoring desired impact through analyzing and communicating results. They establish and maintain performance-based relationships with operators built on trust, transparency, candor, and partnership.
**This is a remote-based position requiring nationwide travel Tuesday through Thursday, three weeks out of each month. Candidates must be flexible and adaptable to meet evolving business needs.**
Responsibilities include:
• Effectively communicating solutions that are built within a flexible framework to exceed our student, and client needs while ensuring scalability and repeatability.
• Improving efficiencies and removing complexities.
• Creating content for field facing operator training for multiple audiences and working with operators to determine the best format for adoptability and ongoing use.
• Monitoring success measures, analyzing results, and communicating outcomes.
• Developing processes, tools and job aids for Focus Accounts, New Account Openings, and deployment of food performance initiatives for growth at scale.
• Effectively engaging to share experiences, insight, and in peer coaching and the on boarding of new team members.
Initial Areas of Focus:
• Initiates, executes set up, and supports and communicates progress for the opening process with continuous process improvement.
• Establishes and/or formalizes food production essentials standards and effectively communicates and deploys.
• Provides troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance for Focus Accounts for food production essentials, and labor optimization for attainment of financial performance.
• Drives every day (ex. new process) and new (ex. Technology enablement) innovation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience in multi-unit foodservice management useful
- Proven ability to work effectively in an unstructured, fast-paced and P&L driven environment
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to lead by influence without formal authority
- Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Willingness to travel nationwide is a MUST!
