The role of Director of Purchasing is responsible for overseeing, managing and optimizing our purchasing

practices across Levy. Partnering with vendors and locations to deliver value through the delivery of the right product, at the right place, at the right time.
 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the managed order guidelines for the organization – ensuring optimized availability and options balancing our location product needs with our aim to optimize product lines across the Company.
  • Oversee the creation and update of Levy’s standard operating procedures (known as Core Signatures) in relation to Purchasing.
  • Liaise with the Compass Food Buy team to identify opportunities for product rationalization and to rectify any issues in supply.
  • Support the global tasting process by shortlisting potential suppliers, products, costings, and execution.
  • Lead development and implementation of Levy’s supply chain strategy to build effective systems and processes and drive performance across the global virtual supply network.
  • Develop and implement the short- and long-term strategy for supply chain development and lead the cross functional team to establish highly effective processes.
  • Partner with the Risk Management team to ensure all supplier applications are vetted from a safety and sanitation perspective.
  • Oversee escalation of supplier issues with vendors to ensure rapid resolution and minimize disruption to operations.
  • Review and approve technical reports and documents related to supply chain activities.
  • Oversee the management of supplier agreements.
  • Maintain information on the Purchasing team intranet site, Levy Dish.
  • Support the Regional Purchasing team with any special requests or projects.
  • Ensure rapid distribution of any internal alerts regarding product issues or recalls.
  • Provide global communications to the field in a timely manner.

Experience

  • Experience overseeing complex purchasing operations
  • Experience managing a range of stakeholder relationships across multiple functions

 

Skills & Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a focus in business or supply chain management
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skill
