Medical Device Integration Specialist

Job Summary

The Medical Device Specialist will serve as the primary clinical and medical-device subject matter expert within HTM. This position will bridge clinical operations and technology teams by translating patient care and workflow requirements into practical medical-device and healthcare technology solutions. 

Key responsibilities include:
Leading clinical evaluations of medical devices, healthcare technologies, and vendor solutions to assess safety, usability, workflow compatibility, and organizational value.
Providing clinical expertise during technology selection, procurement, standardization, implementation, and optimization initiatives.
Serving as a trusted advisor to HTM and organizational leadership regarding medical-device strategy, clinical technology decisions, and workflow-related risks.
Translating clinical and operational needs into clear functional and technical requirements for HTM, IT, Clinical Informatics, vendors, and project teams.
Supporting medical-device integration initiatives involving Epic, clinical systems, interoperability workflows, and device-generated patient information.
Evaluating how new or modified technologies may affect patient care, clinical workflows, staff responsibilities, documentation, and operational processes.
Partnering with clinicians and technical teams to develop implementation plans, testing strategies, training requirements, adoption plans, and go-live support.
Identifying workflow gaps, usability concerns, patient-safety risks, and opportunities to improve medical devices and related technologies.
Leading stakeholder meetings, clinical workgroups, workflow assessments, product demonstrations, and project discussions.
Presenting recommendations, implementation plans, workflow impacts, risks, and project outcomes to leadership, clinicians, and other stakeholders.
Building consensus among clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders and facilitating decisions across multiple departments.
Representing HTM on interdisciplinary committees, governance councils, patient-safety initiatives, and technology-planning groups.
Supporting capital planning and technology lifecycle decisions by providing clinical insight into equipment needs, standardization opportunities, and future requirements.
Assisting with post-implementation reviews and optimization efforts to ensure technologies continue to support safe patient care and organizational objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Clinical Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. 
At least five years of healthcare experience in a clinical setting. 
Experience working with medical devices, clinical systems, or healthcare technology. 
Strong understanding of clinical workflows, patient-care processes, and technology adoption. 
Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, and meeting-facilitation skills. 
Ability to lead discussions, build consensus, and work across clinical, operational, and technical departments. 

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Nursing, Clinical Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. 
Clinical leadership experience as a charge nurse, educator, coordinator, committee chair, supervisor, or manager. 
Experience with Epic, medical-device integration, interoperability, or clinical technology implementation. 
Experience with patient safety, quality improvement, clinical governance, capital planning, or project management. 
Project-management, informatics, quality, or process-improvement certification.
