Job Summary

The Environmental Services Research, Innovation, Training and Administration Project Manager serves as a key liaison within hospital Environmental Services (EVS), Infection Control, and related research and operational initiatives. This role is responsible for managing cross-functional projects, maintaining efficient workflows, monitoring compliance with established processes, and supporting departmental innovation and continuous improvement initiatives. The Project Manager will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of EVS–Infection Control research collaborations, including agreements, documentation, tracking systems, and performance metrics. This individual ensures seamless communication between hospital departments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage several concurrent projects of varying complexity and length within the division.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that include requirements, scope, priorities, deliverables, schedules, budgets, resources, risk assessments, and contingency plans.
  • Monitor project progress closely to ensure milestones are met, risks are mitigated, and deliverables align with organizational objectives.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential issues that may delay progress and develop contingency plans to ensure project continuity.
  • Track and report progress using Smartsheet and other project management tools, maintaining full transparency with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Hold internal members and cross-functional teams accountable for commitments, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between EVS, Infection Control, Research, and administrative teams for all collaborative initiatives and research agreements.
  • Translate technical and process-related terms into clear, actionable business language to ensure mutual understanding across stakeholders.
  • Synthesize complex concepts into concise, accessible summaries for decision-makers.
  • Foster effective communication, feedback loops, and documentation between departments and leadership.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, trackers, and progress reports for leadership review and strategic planning.
  • Analyze project data to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Prepare concise reports summarizing progress, findings, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain project documentation, agreements, and communication logs.
  • Assist with scheduling, minutes, and follow-up action plans from cross-departmental meetings.
  • Ensure all relevant stakeholders have proper access and visibility within shared systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Project management, Business, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in healthcare, EVS, or operational leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards in healthcare.
  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration in healthcare environments.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
  • Advance organizational, project management and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret audit trends, and develop action plans.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, learning management systems, and data tracking tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership, flexibility, and initiative in fast-paced environments.
