Traveling Executive Chef

Salary:  $75,000 - $85,000 / year

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, adaptable Executive Chef to oversee kitchen operations across multiple accounts. This role requires weekly travel and provides support in both culinary and front-of-house operations. The ideal candidate is energetic, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working across varied business models, services, and cuisines.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead food production, following corporate standards for recipes, portioning, and presentation.

  • Develop and adjust menus per guidelines.

  • Train and mentor staff in culinary techniques, equipment use, and sanitation.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and sanitation regulations.

  • Manage inventory and food cost controls.

  • Enforce cleaning and maintenance schedules.

  • Support FOH operations when culinary needs are limited.

  • Adapt quickly to changing supervisors and account needs.

  • Participate in client satisfaction initiatives and staff development.

 

Travel & Location

  • Weekly travel required.

  • Accounts spread across regions with limited direct flight options (exceptions: Chicago and Atlanta).

  • Must be comfortable with frequent changes in reporting structure.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • A.S. degree or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.

  • Adaptability across cuisines, service styles, and business models.

  • High-volume, complex operations experience (institutional and batch cooking preferred).

  • Strong catering and hands-on chef background.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet tools.
  • ServSafe certification preferred.
