Job Summary
Overview:
The Vice President of Operations (VPO) will oversee all MedStar Health Hospitals in the Baltimore and DC markets within the Plant Operations Division. This executive leadership role is responsible for strategic planning, capital/infrastructure management, operational excellence, financial performance, and client relationship management across multiple acute care hospital facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage regional operations to meet financial and service goals.
• Provide strategic direction and support to Regional Directors and site-level teams.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (Joint Commission, CMS, EPA, OSHA, etc.).
• Conduct quarterly business reviews and biannual site audits.
• Drive customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
• Support new business development and account startups.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; engineering preferred. Master’s degree a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of multi-site facilities management experience in acute care hospitals.
• Strong P&L and budget management experience.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• CHFM certification preferred.
• Deep knowledge of healthcare facility systems and regulatory codes.
• Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Union experience preferred.
