Job Summary

Job Summary:

Working as the Sr. HR Manager, your primary focus will be to support the Human Resources function so that it meets both the needs of the business and of our associates.  The Sr. HR Manager will take the lead role in all of the following areas:  associate relations, HR specific legal requirements and compliance, associate engagement, survey action plan follow-up, performance  amd merit increase monitoring, hiring non-exempt and exempt associates.  This is a union property and the Sr. HR Manager will handle greivances, compliance and monthly reports to the union. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all Company HR related policoes are applied consistently.
  • Objectively coaches associates and management through complex and difficult issues.  Provides guidance to management on appropriate disciplinary action.  Assists with on-site investigations.
  • Oversees hourly recruitment and onboarding. 
  • Maintains and coordinates associate recognition programs.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws.
  • Regularly runs and/or reviews HR activity reports.
  • Supports associate engagement survey interpretation/feedback process.
  • Attends department manager meetings to increase HR visibility, conducts training, provides assistance and implements HR inititives. 
  • Reviews any requests for pay increases or other status changes to ensure internal equity and consistency.  Processes ststus change forms.
  • Acts as the diversity champion by leading assigned tasks and corporate diversity activities including recruiting retention and promotion goals.
  • Completion of other assignments and projects as required by a manager.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or other relevant degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience in working as an HR professional.
  • Three plus years human resources generalist experience required; management experience a plus.
  • Prior HR experience in a unionized environment is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and relationship management skills.
  • Computer skills including intermediate level proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint (knowledge of SAP/SuccessFactors is a plus).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and drive for excellence and high performance.
  • Strong desire for continues learning and process improvements with passion about technology
