Salary: $80,000 - $89,000 / year

Job Summary
As the Executive Chef at Wabash College, you will lead all culinary operations, overseeing kitchen staff and ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-performing environment. This role manages production for multiple dining outlets, including four fraternities, high-volume catering, a food truck, stadium suites/concessions, and a new student center (with café and kitchen). Responsibilities include menu planning, recipe execution, staff training, inventory control, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. Ideal for an energetic, entrepreneurial culinary professional.
Typical schedule: 9:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. with availability during weekends.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and execute menus in line with company standards.

Maintain food quality, portioning, and presentation consistency.

Track production, waste, and inventory within budget.

Train and develop staff in culinary techniques, safety, and sanitation.

Oversee cleaning schedules and ensure compliance with health regulations.

Manage proper use of leftovers and adherence to food safety policies.

Participate in meetings and client programs as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Associate degree or equivalent experience.

5+ years of progressive culinary and kitchen management experience.

High-volume, multi-outlet, or institutional foodservice background.

Strong catering and batch cooking experience preferred.

Hands-on leadership with expertise in cost control, trends, and sanitation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.

ServSafe certification preferred.

Commitment to client satisfaction and operational excellence.
