Job Summary
As the Vending Manager for the Pacific Division, you’ll be the strategic and operational lead for all vending activities across the region. From service schedules and equipment upgrades to data integrity and compliance, you’ll drive performance and profitability with a strong focus on ROI. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in the field, collaborates cross-functionally, and ensures alignment with national standards while tailoring solutions to regional needs.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Execution
- Develop and implement strategies for service frequency, equipment upgrades, and refurbishments based on ROI and lifecycle value
- Lead execution of tech upgrades and machine replacement initiatives
- Align local strategies with enterprise goals in collaboration with the Director of Unattended Retail, Branch Leadership, and the MAXIS team
Operational Oversight
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all vending operations in the Pacific Division
- Conduct field audits to ensure machine performance, cleanliness, product variety, and branding standards
- Drive accountability for machine compliance, stocking accuracy, and planogram adherence
Data, Reporting & Analytics
- Oversee vending analytics using internal platforms and DEX data
- Monitor stock-outs, machine profitability, uptime, and service response metrics
- Identify root causes of performance issues and implement corrective actions
DEX Process Management
- Ensure end-to-end functionality of DEX processes with accurate and timely data transmission
- Address training gaps, tech issues, and process adherence with route and service teams
- Drive DEX compliance and data fidelity
Training & Compliance
- Identify knowledge gaps and deliver targeted training in vending operations, DEX, and compliance
- Ensure consistent product mix and merchandising standards
- Lead root cause analysis for service failures and deploy corrective solutions
Equipment Management
- Oversee lifecycle planning for vending machines, including maintenance, refurbishment, and replacement
- Coordinate with national teams on inventory, procurement, and deployment
- Approve upgrades based on usage trends, sales velocity, and profitability
- Ensure equipment meets manufacturer specifications, including software updates
- Collaborate with branch leadership to manage service part inventory and uptime
- Leverage division buying power to advise on cost-effective procurement
Qualifications
- 5+ years in vending or unattended retail operations; multi-site experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills with experience in vending platforms, reporting tools, and DEX systems
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and influence service partners
- Demonstrated success managing cross-regional projects with both in-person and remote oversight
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable with 50% travel
- Experience with Smart Tech and Microsoft Dynamics ticket management systems
