Job Summary
Levy at American Airlines Center is seeking a dependable, energetic, and detail-oriented event-based part-time Bar Back to join our Concessions team. This role plays a vital part in supporting bartenders by ensuring bars remain fully stocked, clean, and organized throughout every event. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working behind the scenes, and is committed to delivering exceptional service and operational excellence.
Essential Responsibilities
- Stock and replenish liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice, glassware, and bar supplies before, during, and after events.
- Retrieve food, beverages, and supplies from kitchens and storage areas to support bar operations.
- Set up and maintain bar stations, ensuring products are organized, accessible, and presentation standards are met.
- Monitor beer taps and bar equipment, reporting maintenance issues promptly.
- Keep snack stations, napkins, and other guest supplies fully stocked.
- Assist with opening, closing, and side work, including inventory restocking and workstation preparation.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of bars, service stations, refrigerators, worktables, floors, and surrounding areas.
- Remove trash and recycling while ensuring all work areas meet sanitation and safety standards.
- Assist bartenders with beverage preparation and service during peak business periods.
- Bus bar-top seating and support guest service as needed.
- Follow all company food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and workplace safety policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of food and beverage, hospitality, hotel, club, restaurant, or bar experience preferred.
- Previous stadium, arena, entertainment venue, or high-volume experience is a plus.
- Valid TABC Certification and ServSafe Food Handler Certification (or the ability to obtain within the required timeframe).
- Excellent customer service, communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, squat, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
