Culinary Storeroom Attendant

Job Summary

• Receive, unload, inspect, and verify incoming food products, beverages, supplies, and equipment for accuracy, quantity, quality, condition, and appropriate temperatures.
• Assist with maintaining accurate inventory levels of food, beverages, culinary supplies, chemicals, equipment, and other departmental products to support efficient event-day and daily operations.
• Properly store food and supplies in designated dry storage, refrigerated, frozen, chemical, and equipment storage areas according to established food safety and departmental standards.
• Monitor and document required storage temperatures for refrigerators, freezers, and other temperature-controlled areas in accordance with food safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary, and secure storeroom, including shelving, refrigerators, freezers, receiving areas, carts, equipment, and surrounding workspaces.
• Safeguard inventory and restricted storage areas by following established security, access-control, and loss-prevention procedures.
• Identify damaged, expired, spoiled, improperly stored, or otherwise unusable products and immediately report concerns to management.
• Assist with cleaning and sanitation duties, including sweeping, mopping, removing trash and recycling, cleaning shelving and storage areas, and maintaining receiving and inventory spaces.
• Properly use cleaning chemicals and sanitation products according to manufacturer instructions, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and departmental safety procedures.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned based on operational needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in food service, culinary operations, warehousing, receiving, inventory, hospitality, stadium/arena operations, hotels, restaurants, or commercial kitchens preferred.
• Previous experience with inventory management, receiving, stocking, or storeroom operations preferred.
• Knowledge of proper food storage, sanitation, FIFO inventory rotation, and basic food safety practices preferred.
• Valid ServSafe Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
• Ability to accurately count, organize, label, rotate, and track products and supplies.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with culinary, warehouse, purchasing, and management teams.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to work a flexible event-based schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, games, concerts, and special events.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout scheduled shifts.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, squat, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive movements.
• Ability to safely move products using carts, dollies, hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other approved equipment.
• Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, dry-storage, loading/receiving, and commercial kitchen environments, including areas with varying temperatures.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced arena environment while maintaining attention to inventory accuracy, sanitation, and food safety.
