Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Transportation Manager to lead the daily operations of our food transportation network.  This role ensures the efficient, safe, and timely delivery of perishable and non-perishable food products to our customers. The Transportation Manager will lead routes, vehicle maintenance, and compliance with all transportation regulations, with a strong focus on food safety.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate the transportation of food items to customers.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, FDA, USDA) and transportation laws (DOT, FMCSA).
  • Optimize delivery routes to reduce fuel costs and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for delivery efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Address delivery issues, delays, and customer complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain transportation records, including mileage, fuel use, and driver logs.

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in transportation/logistics management, preferably in the food or beverage industry.
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and temperature-sensitive transportation requirements.
  • Current certification in accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and route optimization software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
  • Proficiency in English is required to comply with transportation safety regulations, food handling guidelines, and company procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in supply chain management, logistics, business, or related field (preferred).
