Job Summary
Do you enjoy providing hands-on support to IT and POS systems? We are currently seeking an IT Technical Support Manager for our campus dining operations at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. The primary responsibility of the role is providing planning, administration and support for the servers, systems and devices used in the food service operations across a multi-unit university foodservice account.
The IT Systems Support Manager plays a critical role in maintaining and optimizing POS systems and IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable operations, efficient troubleshooting, and effective vendor coordination to support Campus Dining Services.
Key Responsibilities:
POS System Management:
- Administer and optimize POS software setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Oversee hardware installations, maintenance, upgrades, and support.
- Manage technical support requests, escalating issues when necessary.
IT Infrastructure:
- Maintain and audit IT architecture integrations between University and Compass Group.
- Supervise hardware inventory, procurement, and audits.
BOOST Platform Support:
- Ensure efficient setup, operation, and troubleshooting of BOOST mobile ordering platforms.
Technical Support:
- Deliver first and second-level technical support for POS and IT-related issues.
- Work collaboratively with vendors to enhance system performance and resolve issues.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Develop and generate automated reports for financial forecasting and senior management insights.
IT Equipment Management:
- Configure and maintain PCs, laptops, and networking systems to meet operational needs.
- Support equipment setup and deployment for new sites and users.
Physical IT Operations:
- Conduct hands-on tasks, including equipment setup, server room maintenance, and troubleshooting in various environments.
Qualifications:
- Technical degree or 3+ years of professional IT experience.
- Proven expertise in POS hardware and software support.
- Foundational knowledge of networking systems and configurations.
- Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, and command-line troubleshooting tools.
- Programming experience and familiarity with the hospitality industry are advantageous.
- Experience with Oracle and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
