Job Overview

CCL Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced and hospitality-driven Executive Sous Chef to lead the culinary program within a premier luxury active lifestyle community in Eagle, Idaho known for its vibrant lifestyle, refined atmosphere, and commitment to exceptional resident experiences.

This is a sophisticated, resort-style environment that operates with the polish and attentiveness of a high-end private country club. Culinary execution plays a central role in delivering a refined hospitality experience where quality, creativity, and consistency are paramount.

The Executive Sous Chef will serve as the culinary leader for the operation, overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations, menu development, and culinary team leadership. This role requires a chef who is equally comfortable leading in the kitchen and engaging with residents, guests, and client partners in a polished and professional manner.

We are seeking a hands-on culinary professional who brings strong leadership, creativity, and operational discipline, along with a passion for delivering elevated American cuisine and exceptional dining experiences.


Position Summary

The Executive Sous Chef is responsible for leading the culinary operation, including food production, menu planning, kitchen management, and culinary team development. This individual will work closely with the Senior Director of Dining Services to ensure culinary offerings align with the overall hospitality vision and service standards of the community.

Success in this role requires strong culinary expertise, organizational skills, and a visible leadership presence that reflects the hospitality and professionalism expected in a high-end club or resort-style environment.


Key Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership

  • Lead and manage all day-to-day kitchen operations.
  • Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and direction to the culinary team.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and culinary excellence.
  • Maintain a visible and engaged presence in both the kitchen and dining environments.

Menu Development & Culinary Execution

  • Develop and execute creative, seasonally inspired menus with a focus on elevated American cuisine.
  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and execution across all dining venues.
  • Introduce new dishes and concepts that enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Partner with the Senior Director to support special dining experiences and culinary events.

Guest & Client Engagement

  • Maintain a polished, guest-facing presence and interact regularly with residents and client leadership.
  • Gather feedback and incorporate insights into menu development and culinary improvements.
  • Contribute to a warm, engaging dining experience through visible culinary leadership.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure efficient kitchen operations, including production planning, inventory management, and food safety.
  • Maintain high standards for cleanliness, organization, and sanitation.
  • Monitor product quality and ensure all food is prepared and served to the highest standards.

Financial & Cost Management

  • Support the management of food cost, purchasing, and inventory controls.
  • Work closely with leadership to maintain cost efficiencies while delivering high-quality culinary offerings.
  • Assist in budgeting and cost analysis related to menu development and purchasing.

Events & Catering

  • Support the planning and execution of small catered events and community gatherings.
  • Collaborate with leadership to design menus for special events, tastings, and themed dining experiences.
  • Ensure event execution reflects the same quality and hospitality standards as daily dining operations.

Team Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor culinary staff.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development to strengthen culinary skills and teamwork.
  • Foster a positive and professional kitchen culture focused on excellence and accountability.

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
  • Maintain ServSafe standards and enforce proper food handling procedures.
  • Uphold company policies and culinary best practices.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong foundation in American cuisine with the ability to create elevated, contemporary menus.
  • Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen operations, and food production.
  • Experience leading culinary teams in upscale hospitality environments.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with front-of-house leadership and client partners.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, guest-facing presence.

Qualifications

  • Culinary degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive culinary leadership experience in upscale restaurants, private clubs, hotels, or resort environments.
  • Proven experience in menu development and kitchen leadership.
  • Experience in catering and special events a plus.
  • ServSafe certification required (or ability to obtain).
