  • We have an opening for a full time BUILDING ENGINEER LIQUID COOLING position.

  • Requirement: Three to five years previous Building Engineer LC experience. Previous liquid cooling experience is required.
  • Fixed Pay Rate: $48.00 per hour

Job Summary 

The Building Engineer – Liquid Cooling is responsible for the hands-on operation, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical mechanical and cooling systems within a mission-critical environment. This role supports the reliability of chilled water and liquid cooling infrastructure by performing equipment rounds, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and system monitoring. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical experience with chilled water systems, pumps, hydronic systems, HVAC controls, and BAS/BMS platforms, with the ability to respond quickly and effectively to alarms, equipment issues, and changing operating conditions. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot chilled water systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, hydronic piping, HVAC equipment, and associated controls.  
  • Perform routine equipment rounds and monitor temperatures, pressures, flow rates, differential pressures, and BAS/BMS alarms to support system reliability.  
  • Diagnose mechanical system issues and complete preventive and corrective maintenance using established procedures, tools, and safety practices.  
  • Respond to system alarms, leaks, abnormal operating conditions, and equipment failures; escalate complex or critical issues as appropriate.  
  • Maintain accurate operating logs, inspection records, work orders, and preventive maintenance documentation.  
  • Support testing, inspections, equipment startup/shutdown activities, and maintenance of critical cooling infrastructure.  
  • Assist with system improvements and identify recurring maintenance or reliability concerns.  
  • Coordinate with vendors and specialty contractors and verify completion and quality of assigned work.  
  • Follow all safety, environmental, operational, and site-specific procedures while supporting a 24/7 mission-critical environment.  
  • Support emergency response activities as required.  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of experience in building engineering, HVAC, mechanical maintenance, or critical facility operations.  
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification required.  
  • Strong hands-on experience with chilled water systems, pumps, hydronic systems, heat exchangers, water flow, HVAC controls, and BAS/BMS systems.  
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems using operating data such as temperature, pressure, flow, and differential pressure.  
  • Experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial environments, or other high-reliability operations preferred.  
  • Experience with coolant distribution units (CDUs), direct-to-chip liquid cooling, water treatment, leak detection systems, or data center mechanical infrastructure preferred.  
  • Trade school, technical training, or equivalent practical experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, or facility maintenance preferred.  
  • Additional trade licenses or certifications may be required based on local jurisdiction, contract requirements, or scope of work.  
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment and respond to changing operational priorities.
