Job Summary
Summary: Assists with the day-to-day upkeep, maintenance and smooth operation of the building and campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in installing insulation on pipes, ductwork, tanks, and other mechanical systems under the supervision of a lead insulator.
- Hold, measure, cut, and prepare insulation materials such as fiberglass, elastomeric, and foam.
- Help secure insulation using adhesives, bands, wires, and fasteners as directed.
- Assist with sheet metal jacketing and cladding installations.
- Learn to read basic blueprints and understand mechanical system layouts.
- Provides quality customer service by providing one-on-one attention to detail.
- Monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Notifies managers about the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
