Job Summary

The Route Support Supervisor supports daily Vending and Market operations by coordinating route coverage, training and developing drivers, supporting route planning, and ensuring branch initiatives and performance targets are successfully executed.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Training & Driver Development

 

  • Train and onboard new Market and Vending drivers.
  • Conduct route rides and ensure drivers are prepared to independently manage their routes.
  • Partner with Route Managers to retrain and coach drivers with performance opportunities.
  • Reinforce expectations for service, merchandising, inventory, scanning, safety, and customer service.

 

Route Coverage & Planning

 

  • Coordinate and communicate daily route coverage for utility drivers.
  • Partner with Route Managers to proactively plan coverage for upcoming PTO, vacancies, and other staffing needs.
  • Ensure coverage plans are in place to minimize missed routes and service disruptions.
  • Participate in route planning and coverage meetings.

 

KPI & Performance Management

 

  • Track key operational KPIs and partner with Route Managers to address performance gaps.
  • Support achievement of monthly Cash-In on Growth targets and other branch goals.
  • Monitor route execution, training progress, and operational compliance.

 

Branch Initiatives & Projects

 

  • Coordinate and support branch initiatives, route changes, new account launches, equipment moves, and other operational projects.
  • Track assigned projects to ensure they are completed accurately and on time.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and outstanding actions to branch leadership.

 

Measures of Success

 

  • Routes are fully staffed and serviced as scheduled.
  • PTO coverage is planned in advance.
  • New drivers are trained and prepared to independently operate their routes.
  • Performance issues are identified and addressed through coaching and retraining.
  • Monthly KPI and Cash-In on Growth targets are achieved.
  • Branch projects and initiatives are completed on time.
