Position Title: SOUS CHEF - DALLAS, TX
Salary: $70000 - $75000 / yr

Job Summary
About the Role
Travelers don't just pass through an airline lounge. They arrive hoping for a moment of calm, a great meal and a warm welcome before their journey. As a Sous Chef with the American Airlines lounges at DFW, you'll be a key part of the culinary team that makes that moment happen. You'll help lead daily kitchen operations, keep our food fresh, beautifully presented and consistent, and inspire a back-of-house team that takes pride in every plate.
Please note: this role requires availability for weekends and evenings to match airport lounge operating hours.
What You'll Do
- Work side by side with your team in the preparation and cooking of a variety of food items
- Help plan and create menus that keep guests coming back
- Partner with the marketing and culinary teams to roll out exciting new culinary programs
- Help manage cost controls and keep expenditures on target
- Assist with ordering, inventory and production sheets so the kitchen runs smoothly
- Motivate, train, develop and direct back-of-house associates to deliver on the objectives of the operation
- Uphold American Airlines culture and guidelines, Health Department regulations, and our standards for quality, freshness and presentation
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- 5 years of related culinary experience, including at least 1 year at a supervisory or lead level
- A background in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care or related food service operations
- Knowledge of food and industry trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost control and presentation
- The ability to set up and distribute production sheets
- Strong leadership, training and coaching skills
- Computer skills, including MS Office and Excel
- Preferred: ServSafe or Department of Health certification
- Preferred: Associate's degree in Culinary Arts
