MANAGER, PRODUCTION (FOOD & NUTRITION)

Schedule:  Full time; primarily 2nd shift with some weekends and holidays.  More details are available upon interviewing.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and highly organized Production Manager III to support the Executive Chef and Sr. Director of Food & Nutrition in driving the success of our food service operations at a 350-bed hospital in a unionized environment. This is an opportunity for a proactive leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional service in a healthcare setting.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Plans, directs and coordinates the activities of production employees in order to prepare and deliver a finished food product to the serving areas in an efficient, timely and proper manner.
  • Oversees kitchen operation while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment for the staff.
  • Prepares or directs preparation of meals in accordance with corporate programs and guidelines.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 2 years of culinary/food service experience with some supervisory experience.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food and nutrition operations.
  • Catering and/or high volume batch cooking experience is required.
  • Experience ordering food and supplies is required.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products including Excel.
  • ServSafe Certification is preferred.
  • Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts a plus.
