Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead the daily operations of our cafeteria and retail food services within the Food & Nutrition Services department. Reporting directly to the Director of Dining Services, this role is responsible for driving customer satisfaction, maintaining high operational standards, and managing a dynamic team in a fast-paced, multi-concept environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee retail and cafeteria operations, ensuring alignment with corporate standards in service, quality, and presentation.

  • Lead the planning and execution of special events and promotions to enhance guest engagement.

  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise hourly staff, focusing on customer service, safety, sanitation, and portion control.

  • Ensure effective communication with team members, patients, and families to support excellent service delivery.

  • Maintain cash handling procedures and payroll records while upholding compliance with company policies.

  • Complete required reports and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Monitor operational performance, identify efficiencies, and implement strategies to improve profitability and service quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Services Management, Hospitality, or a related field; or an Associate degree with 3+ years of directly relevant experience.

  • 1–3 years of retail foodservice management experience, preferably in a contract-managed or multi-concept environment.

  • Proven experience with cash retail operations, P&L accountability, and budget management.

  • Strong knowledge of food trends, safety regulations, cost controls, and marketing strategies.

  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills (both written and verbal).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other operational systems; strong computer literacy required.

  • Experience managing national brand concepts is highly desirable. Chick-fil-A certification or experience is a plus.

  • Background in retail marketing and experience with multi-concept food service environments is strongly preferred.
