Job Summary

KIPP Public Schools in Houston is seeking an Assistant Director of Dining Services to help lead a dynamic K-12 dining program serving more than 22,000 students across 14 campuses. This is an exciting opportunity to join a mission-driven team dedicated to delivering exceptional food, outstanding service, and memorable experiences that positively impact students every day.

Reporting to the Regional District Manager, you'll play a critical role in supporting operations across 32 feeding locations and 3 commissary kitchens while helping lead a team of up to 166 Chartwells associates. Working alongside the Executive Chef and fellow leadership team members, you'll drive operational excellence, foster employee engagement, support client relationships, and ensure the successful execution of daily dining operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Works with the Chef and management team in creating nutritious and top quality food. 
  • Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams. 
  • Maintains excellent relationships with the client. 
  • Manages, trains, and develops associates. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

  • 1 to 3 years of food service management experience.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills. 
  • Financial experience and business acumen skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
  • Associate’s degree is preferred.
