Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, client-focused Catering Manager to oversee and grow a $1M-$1.5M catering program. This highly visible role is responsible for planning and executing a wide variety of events, building strong client relationships, driving catering sales growth, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong hospitality background, experience managing large-scale events, and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of a $1M-$1.5M catering operation, including planning, execution, billing, and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships with campus departments, student organizations, and external customers.
- Actively identify opportunities to grow catering revenue and expand business through exceptional service and client engagement.
- Coordinate and execute a variety of events including student events, business meetings, award ceremonies, orientations, banquets, special events, and VIP functions.
- Manage events ranging from small meetings to large functions of up to 500 guests.
- Develop catering menus and work closely with culinary teams to ensure outstanding food quality and presentation.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, event orders, and invoicing while ensuring accuracy and profitability.
- Collaborate with operations and culinary teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Monitor labor, food costs, and operational budgets to achieve financial objectives.Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise catering staff.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of catering management, hospitality, event management, or food service leadership experience.
- Experience managing high-volume catering programs with responsibility for revenue growth.Strong client-facing skills with the ability to develop and maintain lasting customer relationships.
Previous sales, business development, or account management experience preferred. - Experience planning and executing events for up to 500 guests.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and catering/event management software.
- Knowledge of budgeting, invoicing, and financial management.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
Schedule
- Primarily Monday-Friday operation.
- Occasional evening and weekend events based on business need.
