Job Summary
The Culinary Cook is responsible for preparing and executing high-quality meals for a variety of large-scale events hosted at the convention center, including banquets, conferences, trade shows, and private functions. This role demands precision, efficiency, and a passion for culinary excellence in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and event specifications.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food inventory to ensure freshness and minimize waste.

Collaborate with Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff to ensure timely and consistent food service.

Follow event orders and production sheets to meet the needs of diverse functions and guest counts.

Season and taste food to ensure quality and consistency.

Participate in post-event breakdown and kitchen sanitation procedures.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification or degree preferred.

Minimum 1 year of experience in a high-volume kitchen, banquet, or catering environment.

Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen equipment operation.

Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Team-oriented with excellent communication and time management skills.

Experience with large-scale food production and plating.

Familiarity with diverse cuisines and dietary accommodations.

Ability to adapt quickly to changing event needs and guest preferences.

This position operates within a dynamic convention center kitchen, serving thousands of guests across multiple events. The Culinary Cook must thrive under pressure and maintain a high standard of professionalism and culinary integrity.
