Job Summary
The Inventory Coordinator is key in ensuring accurate inventory levels and efficient stock management at Canteen locations. This position tracks inventory, maintains stock accuracy, and supports operations to ensure optimal inventory flow. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and proactive in maintaining inventory integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Control
• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels through system tracking and physical counts.
• Conduct cycle counts and full inventory audits as required.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical and system inventory.
• Ensure proper product rotation (FIFO) to reduce waste and spoilage.
Operational Support
• Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, and route drivers to ensure stock levels.
• Monitor stock movement, identifying trends and potential shortages or overages.
• Work with vendors and suppliers to track inbound shipments and verify accuracy.
• Assist in receiving, stocking, and organizing inventory within storage areas.
Process Improvement & Reporting
• Identify and implement improvements in inventory management processes.
• Maintain detailed records and reports on inventory usage, waste, and shrinkage.
• Collaborate with management to forecast inventory needs based on demand patterns.
Compliance & Safety
• Ensure compliance with food safety and handling guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storage environment.
• Follow company and regulatory guidelines for inventory documentation and tracking.
Qualifications & Experience
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or business is preferred.
• 1-3 years of inventory control or warehouse experience, preferably in food service or distribution.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, WMS, or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze data for discrepancies.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
