Job Summary

As a Patient Services Supervisor, you will support the efficient, high‑quality delivery of patient dining services within a large‑scale hospital environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring a positive patient experience by overseeing meal service operations, supporting frontline teams, and partnering with clinical staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient satisfaction by meeting—and exceeding—expectations for meal quality, service, and responsiveness.
  • Provide appropriate menu alternatives in alignment with prescribed diets, food allergies, cultural and religious preferences, and patient requests.
  • Collaborate with nursing teams daily to review patient meal selections, tray accuracy, delivery timeliness, and tray retrieval processes.
  • Address and resolve patient concerns promptly, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Support all patient services functions including meal assembly, delivery, quality assurance, sanitation, infection control, and service excellence initiatives.
  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership within a room‑service model and a unionized workforce environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure smooth departmental operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of food service experience.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, healthcare, or similar foodservice settings.
  • Basic understanding of food and service trends, with an emphasis on quality, production, sanitation, cost awareness, and presentation.
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and coaching skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, nursing, management, and frontline associates.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general computer literacy.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred.
