Job Summary

Job Summary:
The Ave C Markets are located inside of a corporate building that services the employees of the company and has no public access. The Market Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked store environment. This role includes daily cleaning, restocking of shelves, troubleshooting basic equipment issues, and providing excellent customer service. As the store uses self-service kiosks, this position does not involve cashier duties. Physical activity is required, including lifting up to 40 lbs, walking distances, and using stairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Store Cleaning and Safety: Clean and sanitize store areas including shelves, floors, and cooler doors to ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Restocking & Merchandizing:
- Monitor inventory levels and replenish shelves, coolers, and displays throughout the day.
- Conduct inventory audits and promptly report any discrepancies or shortages to the direct manager.
- Organize, rotate stock, and ensure freshness. and the appearance of full shelves.
- Ensure that signage is clean, readable, and well displayed.
- Equipment Troubleshooting: Address and troubleshoot basic equipment issues, including basic knowledge of the coffee machine, kiosk, and screen monitors. Any significant malfunctions should be promptly reported to management.
- Customer Service:
- Provide friendly and speedy service to customers, including answering questions, offering guidance on product locations.
- Ensure a fast and efficient shopping experience.
- Address any complaints or issues with professionalism and report to a supervisor if necessary.
- Documentation: Maintain an accurate log of cleaning, restocking, equipment failures, and customer interactions. Report any maintenance needs or stock shortages to the supervisor immediately if you are unable to resolve onsite.
- Physical Tasks: Regularly lift and move items up to 40 lbs, walk distances within the store, and use stairs as required.
- Project Support:
- Assist in the completion of special projects assigned by Canteen and Amazon throughout the year.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a customer service role (e.g., retail, food service, or hospitality).
- Proven track record of effective and professional verbal communication with customers, team members, and managers.
- Basic written communication and counting skills for reporting issues, documenting, and/or counting products in inventory.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform tasks requiring physical exertion.
- Self-motivated, strong attention to detail, and organizational skills are a must.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Basic troubleshooting skills for handling equipment issues.
- Friendly, professional, and customer-focused demeanor.
Work Environment:
This position is in a fast paced, busy environment, and involves standing, walking, and lifting throughout the shift. The Market Attendant will need to move around the store, restock shelves, and occasionally use stairs to move to other markets and break areas within a large building. Attendant will also need to be aware of heavy crowds and adjust tasks to accommodate the customers needs for a quick and unobstructed shopping experience.
