Description

The Packing Manager is responsible for leading warehouse packing and order fulfillment operations to ensure customer orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. This role oversees warehouse personnel, inventory accuracy, workflow optimization, quality standards, and shipping compliance while driving productivity, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
• Lead and develop warehouse packing, picking, and support teams to achieve operational goals.
• Manage daily staffing, labor allocation, scheduling, and performance expectations.
• Ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and within service-level requirements.
• Monitor workflow priorities and address operational bottlenecks to improve efficiency.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through proper inventory controls, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution.
• Oversee packing standards, labeling accuracy, and quality control processes to minimize damages and returns.
• Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), RF scanners, and inventory tools to maintain operational accuracy.
• Analyze operational metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and service levels.
• Enforce safety policies, OSHA standards, and safe work practices throughout warehouse operations.
• Coordinate with shipping partners and internal teams to ensure timely and compliant shipments.
• Supervise pickers, packers, and support staff on a daily basis.
• Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and monitor KPIs such as pick rate and accuracy.
• Train new employees on systems, safety, and procedures, and provide coaching or corrective action when needed.
• Monitor key performance indicators including order accuracy, productivity, throughput, and labor performance.
• Partner with customer service and operations teams to resolve fulfillment issues and support customer satisfaction.
 

Job Summary

 
 
Qualifications:
 
• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of warehouse, fulfillment, distribution, or logistics experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, shipping, order fulfillment, and warehouse operations.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), RF scanners, barcode systems, and shipping software.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
• Experience with Lean, 5S, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
 
Physical Requirements:
 
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout warehouse operations for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to work in varying warehouse conditions and operational environments.
 
Preferred Skills:
 
• Knowledge of OSHA and warehouse safety regulations.
• Experience supporting high-volume eCommerce, fulfillment, or distribution operations.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
