Job Summary

Restaurant Associates is introducing a collection of exceptional dining experiences at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), including a fine dining restaurant, café, wine bar, catering, and events. We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Catering Sales Manager to lead proactive sales efforts and grow event business across this world-class cultural campus.

The ideal candidate is a hunter at heart, a self-motivated sales professional who thrives on networking, prospecting, and closing new business. This role will focus on building relationships within the Los Angeles market, partnering with corporate, social, and nonprofit clients to create memorable, art-inspired events.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively prospect, network, and secure new catering and event business, both on and off campus.

  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of clients through outreach, referrals, and community engagement.

  • Partner with museum leadership and marketing to position LACMA as a premier destination for private events, galas, and high-profile gatherings.

  • Create customized proposals, contracts, and event plans that reflect client vision and align with operational capabilities.

  • Collaborate with culinary and operations teams to ensure flawless execution of events ranging from VIP dinners to large outdoor galas.

  • Represent Restaurant Associates and LACMA at industry and community events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.

  • Forecast, track, and report on sales performance and revenue goals.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of local market trends, competitor offerings, and new business opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in event or catering sales, with a proven record of generating new business.

  • Strong prospecting and negotiation skills; confident closer with a relationship-driven approach.

  • Experience managing complex, high-value events in luxury, cultural, or destination venues.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with polished client presentation style.

  • Passion for hospitality, food, and creating extraordinary guest experiences.
