Job Summary
Associate Director of Food & Nutrition Services
Location: Acute Care Hospital
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Associate Director of Food & Nutrition Services to join our leadership team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the successful operation of all foodservice-related activities within the hospital—including patient dining, retail, catering, quality improvement, sanitation, and infection control.
This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic and entrepreneurial manager who thrives on creating innovative solutions and driving service excellence in a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support overall management of food & nutrition services to ensure client and customer satisfaction
- Direct and oversee safety, sanitation, and infection control programs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, staff, and hospital leadership
- Promote professional growth and development of team members
- Drive quality improvement and cost-effective operational performance
- Integrate foodservice operations into the hospital’s overall plan of care
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- B.S. in Food Service Technology/Management or related field; OR
- A.A. Degree plus 3+ years of directly related experience
- Credentials: Certified Dietary Manager or Registered Dietitian preferred; ServSafe® Certification required
- Experience:
- 1–3 years in hospital or adult care setting (depending on degree/training)
- 3–5 years of direct foodservice operational management with purchasing/inventory expertise
- P&L accountability or contract-managed services experience preferred
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of foodservice and catering trends, sanitation standards, and cost controls
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities
- Strong communication (written and verbal)
- Solid financial and budget management skills
- Proficient computer skills
