- Requirement: 2 years of experience in a sanitation role within food manufacturing or a similar industry, 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience, and knowledge of cleaning chemicals, sanitation procedures, and safety requirements (e.g. PPE, SDS, HACCP).
- Pay Range: $15.00 per hour to $17.00 per hour.

Job Summary
Summary: Supervises, coordinates and controls the collection, removal and disposal of refuse/yard waste from commercial and residential customers. The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading the sanitation team and ensuring the facility is cleaned and maintained in compliance with all company policies, industry standards, and food safety regulations. This role is critical in overseeing sanitation procedures, verifying chemical usage and concentrations, and ensuring all cleaning tasks are completed as outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS). The Sanitation Supervisor serves as a liaison between sanitation, quality assurance (QA), and production teams to support a safe, clean, and efficient operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the sanitation team, ensuring all employees are properly trained in cleaning procedures, chemical safety, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure accurate and safe use of cleaning chemicals, including proper handling, storage, and concentration verification.
- Schedules and supervises the daily collection of refuse and waste.
- Oversees associates during a specific shift.
- Performs field inspections to ensure collection is done safely and efficiently.
- Investigates and responds to customer complaints promptly and tactfully.
- Monitors and inspects the repair and preventive maintenance of equipment.
- Prepares required status, maintenance, accident, injury and other reports; submits reports to supervisor.
- Identifies and uses cleaning chemicals following directions recommended by manufacturers and per MSDS/SDS sheets.
- Collaborate with the QA and production departments to coordinate cleaning schedules and address sanitation-related concerns.
- Enforce compliance with company safety policies and sanitation regulations, ensuring proper PPE usage and a clean, hazard-free work environment.
- Identify and escalate any issues that may impact sanitation effectiveness, food safety, or production efficiency.
- Participate in audits and support continuous improvement initiatives in sanitation practices.
- Maintains appropriate office records and files.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a sanitation role within food manufacturing or similar industry.
- 1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, sanitation procedures, and safety requirements (e.g., PPE, SDS, HACCP).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize cleanliness and compliance issues.
- Ability to read and understand sanitation schedules, records, and SOPs.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to lead a team and work cross-functionally.
