Job Summary

As a Senior Sous Chef with Wolfgang Puck Catering, you will bring both artistry and precision to large-scale productions, banquets, and events. This role demands a chef grounded in traditional culinary techniques, with the versatility to support pastry and dessert production when needed. From classical sauces and butchery to delicate pastry execution, you’ll help craft menus that balance timeless technique with Wolfgang Puck’s modern, innovative flair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Executive Chef to oversee banquet and catering operations, from prep through event execution.
  • Apply classical culinary training in menu development, daily production, and guest-facing presentations.
  • Lead, train, and encourage culinary teams across both savory and pastry disciplines to deliver consistency and excellence.
  • Support pastry production, including plated desserts, banquet sweets, and showpieces, ensuring flawless integration with savory menus.
  • Manage kitchen logistics, production schedules, prep lists, and timelines to meet the demands of high-volume events.
  • Maintain strict standards of food safety, sanitation, and quality throughout all operations.
  • Assist in cost control measures, purchasing, and vendor management.
  • Collaborate with culinary and marketing teams to roll out new seasonal menus and signature Wolfgang Puck programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Culinary Arts or Pastry Arts, or equivalent formal training, strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years progressive experience in banquet, catering, or large-production kitchens, with both savory and pastry exposure.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of traditional cooking methods, baking, and pastry techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in high-volume, high-profile events.
  • Strong knowledge of catering logistics, batch cooking, and banquet service.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and kitchen management systems.
  • ServSafe certification highly desirable.
