Job Summary
EXECUTIVE CHEF – PRISMA HEALTH SYSTEM
Join Morrison Healthcare as an Executive Chef supporting the Prisma Health System! This is a great opportunity for a hands-on culinary leader who enjoys developing teams, driving quality and running a high-volume kitchen operation.
As the Executive Chef, you will lead daily kitchen operations while maintaining the highest standards for food quality, presentation, safety and sanitation. We are looking for an energetic leader who can build a strong culinary team, control costs and consistently deliver an outstanding dining experience for patients, guests and hospital staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead all culinary and kitchen operations
- Develop regular and modified menus following established guidelines
- Ensure recipes, portioning and presentation standards are consistently followed
- Monitor food quality through daily production sheets, waste logs and meal tastings
- Hire, train, develop and motivate kitchen staff
- Train employees on food preparation, equipment operation, safe food handling and sanitation
- Maintain cleaning and preventive maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas
- Manage food and non-food inventory while controlling costs and ensuring products are available
- Oversee the proper use of leftover food products within company guidelines
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations
- Maintain readiness for health department and third-party audits
- Follow all facility, department and company safety policies
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff development and professional programs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree or equivalent culinary experience
- Three to five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
- Hands-on chef leadership experience required
- Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations strongly preferred
- Institutional and batch-cooking experience
- Catering experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of food trends, production, sanitation, presentation and food-cost controls
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and email
- ServSafe certification strongly preferred
