Job Summary
PART TIME, EVENT BASED, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH FISERV FORUM, MILWAUKEE BUCKS, AND MARQUETTE EAGLES
$26.00/HR, UNION POSITION.
Position Summary:
The Expeditor plays a critical role in ensuring seamless communication between the kitchen and front-of-house staff. In a refined, high-volume setting with chef’s tables and à la carte service, the Expo ensures that every dish meets the restaurant’s exacting standards for timing, presentation, and quality before reaching the guest.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Service Flow:
Manage the pass during service, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of dishes to servers and chef’s tables. - Quality Control:
Inspect each plate for presentation, temperature, and accuracy before it leaves the kitchen. - Communication Hub:
Act as the liaison between kitchen and service staff, relaying special requests, allergies, pacing, and table status updates. - Chef’s Table Oversight:
Work closely with the Executive Chef to manage the timing and delivery of multi-course experiences at chef’s tables. - Ticket Management:
Monitor and prioritize tickets, ensuring proper pacing for à la carte and tasting menus. - Problem Solving:
Quickly address any issues with timing, plating, or order accuracy to maintain smooth service. - Cleanliness & Organization:
Maintain a clean and organized expo station, ensuring all tools and garnishes are stocked and ready.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant setting.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food presentation standards.
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Familiarity with POS and kitchen display systems.
- Passion for hospitality and culinary excellence.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen during service hours.
- Close collaboration with chefs, sous chefs, and service staff.
- Evening and weekend availability required.
