Job Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for Canteen One’s Accounts Receivable function, and working directly with our national account contacts. This position manages a team of direct reports, ensuring timely and accurate processing of customer invoices, collections, and account reconciliations. The Accounting Manager is also responsible for maintaining strong internal controls and providing regular reports on Accounts Receivable performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Accounts Receivable Management: Oversee daily operation, ensure payment activity is accurately recorded, establish open communication with clients and regularly update them on their account status and upcoming payment deadlines.
  • Reconciliations: Responsible for all A/R reconciliations, bring financial impact issues and resolution options to Controller’s attention, and ensure at-risk receivables are identified and escalated.
  • Trend Analysis/Reporting: By client, report trend analysis on billing, collections and A/R balances, and prepare and present reports on A/R to senior management.
  • Internal Controls: Document internal control processes and procedures, update internal control policies, and train employees on internal control practices by fostering a culture of accountability.
  • System Integrity: Responsible for A/R data integrity and works closely with IS team to improve and streamline processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent degree
  • 5+ years of general accounting experience with 2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity or equivalent
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • Demonstrated success working in a complex work environment, and experience with supply/distribution channel preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and technical accounting skills
  • Proven ability to maintain long-term work relationships
  • Meet deadlines with accurate data and analysis
  • Prioritize business requirements
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel
  • Heavy experience in various software systems to extract data for analysis
  • Prefer project management skills, experience with ERP systems, such as JD Edwards, SAP, and Oracle, and experience with reporting tools, such as Business Objects, SIGMA
