The ideal candidate combines strong Excel skills with a solid foundation in standard accounting and bookkeeping practices, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions for the assigned site, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

•    Support month-end and period-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
•    Maintain and update Excel-based tracking tools, budgets, and financial models; build and refine spreadsheets to support forecasting and reporting needs.
•    Assist with vendor invoicing, purchase order reconciliation, and resolution of billing discrepancies.
•    Support budget preparation and variance analysis in partnership with site and district management.
•    Travel to other sites within the account as needed to support financial projects, training, audits, or temporary coverage.
•    Partner with the General Manager and district finance team to ensure compliance with Compass Group and client financial policies.
•    Assist with internal and client-facing audits by preparing documentation and supporting schedules.
•    Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency at the site level.
•    Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

•    Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
•    1-3+ years of experience in a bookkeeping, staff accountant, or general accounting role.
•    Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data reconciliation); experience building and maintaining spreadsheets for reporting and analysis.
•    Solid understanding of standard bookkeeping and accounting principles, including AP/AR, journal entries, and reconciliations.
•    Experience with accounting or POS/back-office systems a plus (e.g., QuickBooks, Compass financial systems, or similar).
•    Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across a primary site and occasional project support at other locations.
•    Willingness and ability to travel locally to other sites as business needs require.
•    Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with site management and finance leadership.
•    Food service, hospitality, or corporate dining industry experience preferred but not required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

•    Primarily an onsite office/administrative environment within a corporate dining operation.
