Job Summary
As the Assistant General Manager at Rhodes College, you will support the General Manager in leading all aspects of dining operations, ensuring high-quality service and client satisfaction within budgetary guidelines. You will focus on operational excellence, safety, compliance, and team development while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:

Support daily operations including food service, sanitation, and safety standards.

Assist in budgeting, cost controls, and inventory management.

Hire, train, and mentor frontline and management staff.

Lead by example to maintain positive relationships with clients, employees, and campus partners.

Oversee purchasing, food production, and menu planning in coordination with culinary leadership.

Ensure compliance with HACCP standards and local health regulations.

Implement programs that drive employee engagement, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.

5–7 years of progressive experience in upscale food service, with at least 1 year in multi-unit or high-volume management.

Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.

Experience in large-scale catering operations is strongly preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of food management systems a plus.

ServSafe or similar food safety certification is a plus.
