Job Summary

Position Summary:
The Utility Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and efficiency of the kitchen and back-of-house operations. This position oversees the dishwashing team, ensures sanitation standards are met, and supports inventory and equipment organization. The ideal candidate leads by example, trains team members, and contributes to a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence:
- Execute opening and closing duties with utility team members.
- Oversee daily dishwashing operations and ensure timely turnaround of clean wares for culinary and service teams.
- Follow proper procedures for dishwashing, including but not limited to washing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using steward machines or by hand.
- Display knowledge of dishwashing and sanitation skills and teach others proper techniques.
- Monitor and maintain dishwashing equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Assist with receiving and organizing food and supply deliveries, ensuring storerooms remain clean, organized, and properly stocked.
Sanitation & Safety:
- Conduct and train team members on daily sanitation inspections in all active areas of operation.
- Conduct regular inspections of all locations to ensure cleanliness and maintenance meet company standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards across dishwashing and utility areas.
- Ensure team members utilize proper PPE when required.
- Identify and report any safety or sanitation violations to culinary leadership.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness during and after food preparation and events.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Train utility team members on Levy core signatures, proper cleaning practices, and operational standards.
- Provide coaching and feedback to support team growth and performance.
- Set clear goals for the team and support efforts to meet and exceed expectations.
- Act with a sense of urgency and provide friendly, efficient service to teammates and guests.
- Accept feedback openly and work diligently to improve leadership skills and operational knowledge.
Communication & Reporting:
- Maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, guests, clients, and leadership.
- Regularly report progress on tasks and team goals to direct supervisors.
- Facilitate record keeping and reporting as required by leadership.
