Position Title: BUSINESS MANAGER - EVENTS
Salary: $95000 - $97000 / year

Job Summary
The Business Manager - Eventions is responsible for management of event staff/planners and their team’s overall performance of events on the SVC Campus.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise SR Event Planner, Event Planners, & Event Coordinator in a full-service environment (may include hourly staff)
- Performs all talent management functions for department, including establishing goals, monitoring & tracking performance, overseeing & evaluating training, performance evaluations & managing performance deficiencies.
- Review, develop & recommend policies, procedures & services by analyzing business needs & goals at a daily operational level.
- Review event forecasts & metrics for accuracy & timely completion
- Provide second level response to customer escalations. Dispel animosity of issues: research, respond accordingly, ensuring customer satisfaction & repeat business.
- Assist in booking events process as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Build strong relationships with executive level & business administrators.
- Oversight of day-to-day events, and anything related to event services.
- Provide seamless management of conferences & customer service.
- Control issues as they arise through proper administrative channels & escalation paths.
- Possess ability to remain calm & follow protocol during emergency situations.
- Develop and drive sales targets for their team.
- Stay informed of industry standards & local competitive market (venues & pricing), sharing information with Event Team members & making recommendations to further enhance programming.
- Partner with Customer Advocate to increase service levels & market share.
- Provide accurate reporting of events, catering revenue & metrics as needed to support business goals & objectives.
- Oversee Event Planners/Coordinators to ensure all Service Level Agreements are met, recorded information is accurate & communication with customers & internal departments is thorough & concise.
- Ensuring RFPs are completed and covered with customers, stakeholders in a timely fashion.
- Ensuring SLA’s are met
- Responsible for oversight for all billing compliance measures
- Responsible for event forecasts, metrics, and any data related event as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of managerial experience in a hospitality/customer service field or event planning environment is required.
- Bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required.
- 5+ years of overall experience in the event/meeting or other hospitality field
- CMP certification is preferred.
- Must have experience with financials and tracking, maintaining budget for a department, facility, or LOB.
- Proficient in Microsoft Software Programs including Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, as well as technology tools & language
