Job Summary
We’re looking for a Fleet Assistant General Manager to join our awesome Canteen team at Google!
The Fleet Assistant General Manager is a pivotal leadership role that requires a unique blend of strategic vision, operational expertise, and people management skills. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, organization, direction and arrangement of all aspects of Canteen's fleet operations. You will work to develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the timely and safe delivery of goods.
On a daily basis, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring the safe and timely receipt, storage, retrieval, and dispatching of goods. You will manage vehicle safety for the entire fleet, encompassing electric vehicles (EVs), gas, diesel, and other alternative fuel vehicles. This includes the development and implementation of comprehensive safety training programs for all drivers and staff, as well as the management of vehicle maintenance logistics to ensure that all vehicles are in optimal operating condition.

The great things you will do:

Manage workplace and food safety, including allergen management

Design, manage and own the overall experience, not just the offerings

Train and develop team members

Oversee P&L/Budget including the food distribution and some aspects of the fleet departments

Communicate and interact with customers and various internal functional departments (i.e. IT, HR, Accounting, Procurement, etc.) in order to resolve issues, capitalize on opportunities and improve business and service performance.

Research and reconcile forecasted financial results with posted report/dashboard results as part of the weekly and monthly Close Process.

Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
What we look for in a candidate:
-
Ability to drive and enhance a culture of Food and Workplace Safety
-
Preferred College degree or degree in a related discipline related to facility operation and maintenance or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience in administration.

5+ years of proven Operations management experience required.

Proficient with Google suite of software (sheets, docs, slides, etc…)

Experience with an order processing or an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system

Knowledge of applicable regulations, health and safety, public safety and security, administration and management, transportation principles and methods, personnel and human resources, labor relations, mathematics, customer and personal services and production type processing

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Managing in a Union Environment is a plus
