Job Summary

  • Become a Formula Technician and an important member of our Nutrition Team at LCMC Manning Family Children's. The Formula Tech position will be trained and safely prepare specialty formulas for hospitalized infants and children.  The formula tech will communicate with dietitians and nurses and supply chain members in order to carry out the job responsibilities.  This is an important role in supporting the clinical team and preparing specialized nutrition for pediatric patients. 
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for the preparation, labeling, storage and delivery of all prepared formulas for the NICU and pediatric units.
    • Demonstrate accurate and consistent measuring and mixing procedures using clean technique
    • Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations and standards
    • Document clearly and accurtately all formula log sheets and temperature log sheets
    • Communicate with nursing, staff, dietitians and supply chain staff
    • Complies with all regulatory standards to include federal, state, accrediting agencies, as well as facility confidentiality, HIPPA regulations, and patient rights policies
 
Qualifications:
  • Credentialed as a Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), preferred
  • One (1) year of hospital experience, preferred
  • Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft office applications, electronic medical record & diet office systems, and nutrient analysis programming
